Wound Care
A chronic wound is a sore, ulcer or other skin condition that has not responded to conventional treatment. These wounds can be associated with immobility, poor circulation, or poorly functioning veins. If left untreated, it could lead to serious complications, or even amputation. This can be common amongst people with spinal cord injuries, due to a higher risk of pressure ulcers.
If you require continued wound care while remaining in your home, we have physical therapists and occupational therapists who are certified in wound care management. Our treatment team will quickly address the issue in order to promote healing and work with you on future wound prevention. If necessary, we will utilize wound vacuum therapy or vacuum-assisted closure to help in the healing process.
