Athletic Movement Index

About The Athletic Movement Index

Nothing is more devastating to an athlete than missing part, if not all, of the athletic season due to an injury. Not only can BSW Rehab help an athlete return safely to their sport, we can help prevent the injury from occurring in the first place.

The Importance of An Active Lifestyle

We understand the importance of an active lifestyle and provide movement assessments that utilize revolutionary wireless wearable sensors to measure exactly how you move and assess weakness, tightness and movement patterns that contribute to poor performance and lead to potential injury. Through ViMove AMI™ (Athletic Movement Index) and dorsaVi 3D motion tracking technology, we evaluate range of motion, acceleration and muscle activity on different parts of the body.

By using an accelerometer, magnetometer, gyroscope and video, the ViMove AMI provides visual, highly objective, easily interpreted data to assess technique and movement for performance analysis and muscle re-education. Using evidence-based research, the AMI uses eight core sport-specific movements, scoring every repetition and factoring risks from prior medical history to help create an overall risk profile.

Benefits of the Athletic Move Index
  • Accurately quantifies athletic movement inefficiencies that impact risk and athletic performance.
  • Provides a sensitive measure of limb symmetry for determining risk and return-to-play.
  • Maximizes performance by using the athlete’s results to drive rehab and/or training programs.
  • Tracks progress to determine compliance with rehabilitation/training.
