Austin Henke, D.O.

Staff Physiatrist

Dr. Henke specializes in spinal cord injury, spasticity management, amputee rehabilitation and adaptive fitness and health.

Dr. Austin Henke is a staff physiatrist and one of the physicians as part of the Spinal Cord Injury Medicine services for Baylor Scott and White Institute of Rehabilitation. Board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and spinal cord injury medicine, Dr. Henke is part of the research, inpatient and outpatient efforts in the continuum of spinal cord injury medicine.

His clinical interests are in spinal cord injury medicine as well as adaptive fitness and health. He is continuing to pursue community engagement within many aspects of health and fitness in patients with disabilities. He is a member of several national organizations including the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Academy in Spinal Cord Injury Professionals, and the American Spinal Injury Association.

Dr. Henke earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Texas Tech University and his medical degree from the University of North Texas- Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNT- TCOM). He completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX and was named chief resident. He completed a fellowship in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine from the University of Miami in Miami, FL. He rejoined Baylor Scott & White Institute of Rehabilitation in 2023.
