What This Study Is About
The purpose of this study is to investigate energy needs after spinal cord injury (SCI) and learn how people’s surroundings affect activity levels and weight over the first year following a SCI. We are enrolling 60 individuals who have had a non-traumatic or traumatic SCI and collecting data based on the foods they eat, their kitchen environment and physical measurements. Our researchers will collect data three times over a 12-month period: just before discharge, at six months and again at one year.
What You Would Do
You will complete surveys, wear an activity monitor and allow us to collect physical measurement data three times over the course of 12 months.
