David Smith, PT, MHSc, MBA

CEO of Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation - Dallas

David Smith currently serves as Chief Executive Officer at Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation – Dallas. Prior to returning to Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation, he worked with Select Medical’s international division where he functioned as Vice President, Chief Clinical and Operational Liaison, assisting with projects in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. He continues to function in an advisory capacity with these projects. From 2012 to 2016 he served as Chief Executive Officer of Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation at Northwest Dallas, a 42 bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital. In addition to this he was Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation's Vice President for Rehabilitation Services from 2006 to 2012 and served as Director of Rehabilitation at both Baylor Medical Center at Garland and Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation.

David is a licensed physical therapist, graduating from the University of Sydney in Australia with a Bachelor in Applied Science (Physiotherapy). He earned a post-graduate Manual Therapy Certification and Master of Health Science from the University of St. Augustine, Florida and an MBA from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. David was born and raised in Australia.
