Medical Director of Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation
Rita Hamilton, DO, was named the Medical Director of Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation in August of 2019. Dr. Hamilton has been an integral part of the Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation family for more than a decade leading our Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) and PM&R Residency programs. Additionally, Dr. Hamilton is actively involved with the Academy of Spinal Cord Injury Professionals, American Spinal Injury Association and the Association of Academic Physiatrists, and is frequently tapped to speak at various forums across the country on topics involving spinal cord rehabilitation and graduate medical education. Dr. Hamilton has a tremendous passion for our patients and enjoys serving all people by providing personalized health and wellness through exemplary care, education and research. She attended medical school at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and was a resident at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Hamilton holds certifications in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Spinal Cord Injury Medicine from the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
