PM&R Physician Residency

The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Residency program at Baylor University Medical Center, part of Baylor Scott & White Health, is a three-year, comprehensive and structured training and educational program. Nine residents (three accepted to the program each year) work one-on-one with attending faculty members on the medical staff at Baylor Scott & White. These includes board certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physicians as well as physicians and health care professionals in related specialties.

  • Program length: Three years

  • Residents accepted: Three post-graduate year two (PGY2) positions per year
  • Location: Baylor University Medical Center – Dallas & Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation – Dallas
  • Caseload: With a student-faculty ratio of 3:7, our residents work one-on-one with board-certified physicians and follow up to 15 patients with progressive autonomy through the program.
  • Salary: Competitive annual stipends are awarded residents ranging from $56,000 - $60,000.

  • Three letters of recommendation (one from a physiatrist and one from the applicant's program director are desirable)

  • USMLE and/or COMLEX scores (Step 1 results are mandatory, Step 2 results are desirable)

Ready to apply?

Applications are accepted online through a centralized application website provided by the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Applications are reviewed by members of the physical medicine and rehabilitation graduate education committee. Following this review, invitations to interview are sent to qualifying candidates via the email address listed on the ERAS application. Interviews are generally held from November through mid-January.
