Find the Support You Need
Compassion and support beyond our hospitals
Our commitment to you goes beyond our hospital and clinic walls.
Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation works with current and former patients, family members and caregivers to create support groups that provide the compassionate conversation you may need.
Many of these groups are organized by our former patients who are now mentors.
They offer hope, learning, shared experience and valuable insight from others dealing with similar challenges.
Peer mentor groups
Christopher and Dana Reeve Peer Mentorship Program
The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation awarded Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation a Quality of Life grant to fund its Peer Mentoring Program which is dedicated to improving quality of life for people living with paralysis. The program provides people living with paralysis, their family members and caregivers a connection for hope, support and a way of moving forward with life. Individual peer visits and group sessions are provided to patients in medical rehabilitation. Even after discharge from the hospital, the program provides ongoing support to help navigate challenges when people are reintegrating to home and the community.
